Performing
at Chicago Singer Spotlight on Wednesday, February 11 at FitzGerald's.
Heidi
Fieschko
Heidi is frankly incredulous to be performing at
the Chicago Singer Spotlight. Informally trained by her mother,
Antoinette Zander Fieschko, a pianist, teacher and music coach,
Heidi forewent a musical theatre career to pursue communication
design, and eventually, to make a career in interactive media and
software. However, community and non-equity theatre productions,
and a long stint of improvisational theatre at Piven Theatre Workshop
in Evanston have been a constant through-line in her adult life.
In the past few years Heidi has re-approached jazz standards and
the Great American Songbook under the guidance of Bobby Schiff,
a master jazz interpreter. Thanks to the band and everyone at Singer
Spotlight for this opportunity. Special thanks to Becca Kaufman
for the respect and the encouragement to just assume I would do
this. Congratulations to Becca and Amy for consistently delivering
killer productions every month. Super special thanks for the patience
and love of my Bobby. Love forever to Mom, and to my great, great
family.

Kimberly Washington
Kimberly Burtley-Washington began singing very young in her Mother's
"Sunshine Band" choir and she's been singing ever since! All throughout
her grammar and high school years she sang in many choirs and opened
for gospel greats like, The Winans, Vickie Winans and Darryl and
Phoebe Hines. After high school, she sang off and on, but never
even thought of pursuing it professionally. She has an incredible
love for music and singing is something she did for the pure joy
of it. She never dreamed that one day she would become part of a
group and sing professionally. She is now one of the founding members
of UNITY, an eight-woman contemporary gospel group whose been singing
for over five years. Tonight, however, she will make her debut appearance
"solo." She believes her "flava" is rooted in gospel with a bit
of funk and soul entertwined in the mix. She is tremendously excited
and feels very blessed to be debuting at Fitzgeralds! as a group.
Julie
Aymes
Julie
Aymes is one of Chicago's most versatile vocalists. Over the many
years of her career she has performed pop, swing, jazz, country,
R&B, rock, etc. Julie has opened for several national acts such
as Molly Hatchet, Greg Allman, and Mickey Gilley to name a few.
Her recording career started several years ago when she recorded
a couple of tunes for a local songwriter, which progressed into
recording for other local writers which you will find on her CD
recorded in Nashville, TN. To put it mildly, this girl has a lot
of demos.
