Dina Joy Byrd
DINA JOY BYRD would like to start by thanking the fabulously
talented and ever-supportive, Becca Kaufman and Amy Mowery, for yet
another wonderful opportunity. Rock On Chicago Singer Spotlight! Dina's
cabaret of torch and siren songs was recently featured at Davenport's.
She studies voice with the great Ed Farran. She has spent the last
nine years in the Chicago area singing in all different venues. Jazz,
musical theater, rock or blues - Ms. Byrd sings it all. She is constantly
searching for musicians to jam with! As always, Dina would like to
thank her Mom, Diana.
Phylis Renee Marconi
Phylis Renee Marconi has been singing most all her
life. She is thrilled to be on stage with these exquisite musicians.
In her second life, when she's not doing one of these showcases, you
may find her cantoring mass, fronting her own rock band, Phyl 'n the
Cracks a.k.a. Phylodendron, or jobbing with a local top-40 band. In
the past few years she's embarked on writing and recording her own
music that earned her a spot on a cable arts program, a review in
a songwriter's magazine and most recently a finalist ranking in Sennheiser's
Evolution Mics Band Competition. As a writer Phylis says she's a work
in progress! In her everyday life, Phylis is busy shaping America's
future in the public school system! It's really a kick when those
two life paths cross! Phylis will be at The Vocal Venue in March.
Thanks Becca and Amy for your support! Check out Phylis's
website and listen to her song "Love is Like Poison"
or email her at phylis_r@yahoo.com.
Check out Phylis's CD "I'll Find My Way," on cdbaby.com,

Megan Fox
Megan Fox is a newcomer to the Chicago music scene.
She has sung around Chicago for the last two years highlighting with
Alan Gresik's Swing Shift Orchestra at the Green Mill and going solo
at the Gentry, The Como Inn and the Marriot O'Hare. Megan's biggest
shows often take place in her kitchen while doing dishes-the reviews
are excellent. Coming from a musical family and trained by her mother,
Megan started her singing career at 3 years old, performing in her
kitchen while her mother did dishes, and graduating into living room
trios with her very talented sisters. These days you will find Megan
enjoying her first year of marriage to her husband Jason Fox who has
given her a better stage name than she could ever have made up.
Jonathan Johnson
Jonathan L. Johnson has been the lead male
vocalist of the TVK Orchestra since June of 1992. Mr. Johnson began
singing professionally with the Northern Illinois University Jazz
Band, under the direction of Ron Modell from 1987 through 1989. During
the daytime hours, Jonathan is the Manager of Payroll Operations &
Examination for the Chicago Transit Authority.
