Performing
at Chicago Singer Spotlight, Wednesday June 13 at FitzGerald's
Tristen
A
songbird at age 4, Tristen constantly sang her favorite songs around
the house. During her grade school years she began to dazzle audiences
in school and at other community events with a remarkable sense
of vocal style and performance poise. At age 14, inspired by a Lilith
Fair concert in the summer of 1997, Tristen tried singing during
open mic night at at a local coffee shop and was booked for a weekend
spot the same night. That winter she began working on songs that
would become her first CD. In the January of 2000 Tristen began
working on her follow-up CD "Something Good" with many notable Chicago
musicians such as engineer David Axelbaum (Koko Taylor, Johnny Winter),
bassist Alan Berliant (Claire Massey), and drummer Kyle Woodring
(Deanna Carter, Dennis DeYoung , John Mellencamp, Survivor) . With
"Something Good" Tristen turned onto a pop-country road where her
love for new country music have helped shape her latest compositions.
Now 18 years old with performances at venues such as Metro, Abbey
Pub, and Uncommon Ground and guest appearances on multiple Chicago
radio shows under her belt , singer/songwriter Tristen has a resume
that could make a seasoned veteran long to be young again. And now
with her songwriting she offers us a fresh new perspective delivered
with incredible depth and maturity.

Julie
Aymes
Julie
Aymes is one of Chicago's most versatile vocalists. Over the many
years of her career she has performed pop, swing, jazz, country,
R&B, rock, etc. Julie has opened for several national acts such
as Molly Hatchet, Greg Allman, and Mickey Gilley to name a few.
Her recording career started several years ago when she recorded
a couple of tunes for a local songwriter, which progressed into
recording for other local writers including her husband Sam Elia
who wrote the song "These Days" which you will find on her CD recorded
in Nashville, TN. To put it mildly, this girl has a lot of demos.
Julie presently works with the Al Sofia Orchestra here in town.
