Performing
at Chicago Singer Spotlight on Wednesday, May 8 at FitzGerald's
Christine
Sala
Christine
Sala has been singing since she was a little girl; strumming her
plastic guitar and using the vacuum cleaner handle as her microphone.
Eight years ago she started taking voice lessons from Fred Farran
and credits, not only his skill and knowledge, but his friendship
for her vocal accomplishments. Christine began to put her fears
aside last year and got serious about her vocal ambitions - this
is now her 5th showcase performance and is thrilled to be performing
for Chicago Singer Spotlight at FitzGerald's. She has also been
keeping busy by performing at friends weddings & work functions.
Recently, she has made several guest appearances at Prairie Rock
in Schaumburg w/singer, guitar player - Matt McBride and has been
working with some friends on a "basement band"- Tongue & Groove.
She would like to give special thanks to Becca Kaufman, Amy Mowery,
Leigh Kossman, Mary Anderson & the fabulous band for their talent,
professionalism and sincere support over the past year. Christine
would also like to send hugs & kisses to her family and friends
for their continuous support and love. Christine Sala is a native
of Schaumburg, IL and will soon be calling Huntley her new home.
She is a graduate from the University of Arizona with a BA in Mexican
American Studies & has been working for Accenture for the past 4
years.
Frank
Liptrot
Frank
was born in Chicago, Illinois where his musical talent was nurtured.
He started singing with local bands at the age of thirteen, and
throughout his musical career has shared the stage with Danny and
the Juniors, Mason Prophett, The Mauds, Homesick James, Wayne Cochran
and the CC Riders, and Styx, to mention a few. After a brief hiatus,
Frank has returned to the Chicago music scene.Although he sings
a variety of musical styles from Sinatra to The Beatles, his first
musical love has always been Jazz.Whether it`s an old standard or
a barn burning be-bop tune, Frank puts his stamp on it. His voice
has been compared to that of Mel Torme, and Harry Connick Jr. About
a year and a half ago , Frank started his own band called " JAZZBO",
along with four of the Chicago area`s most talented musicians. Their
CD has recieved air play on W.D.C.B. radio 90.9 FM. Frank currently
resides in Naperville, and is planning to return to the studio to
record some new things with JAZZBO. Frank would like to thank all
those responsible for making tonight`s show happen. And a special
thanks to everyone who came out tonight to support live music.
Tina
Jenkins Crawley
Tina
Jenkins Crawley always had a dream to sing. Too shy to sing for
the general public, Tina developed her skills each day selling out
one person shows in the porcelain palace at her childhood home in
Springfield, Illinois. It wasn't until her high school years that
she opened the door and let everyone else share her soothing sounds.
With a new found confidence, Tina performed with several groups.
As a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, she continued her
endeavors, while happily building a family with a wonderful husband
and becoming a mother of two beautiful children, ensuring that God
and her family always came first. She began her professional singing
career in 2000 appearing in a Celine Dion music video and singing
at multiple nationwide events. More recently, Tina has worked with
Chicago's own Shawn Christopher, as well as Bad Company's "Paul
Rodgers" and several Chicago orchestras. Yet, her deepest desire
is to write, perform and produce positive and spiritual music. So
tonight, enjoy her selections and look for her debut contemporary
Christian album this summer.
