Performing
at Chicago Singer Spotlight on Wednesday, October 8 at FitzGerald's.
Brielle
Brielle
is a truly unique talent that continues to receive national recognition.
while classically trained, her vocal style combines the soulfulness
of R&B, the subtleties of jazz, and sophistication of urban adult
contemporary to create a compelling instrument. Mirror Records found
her NYC performance "intoxicating and powerful". Whether you've
seen her at the Green Mill, Park West, or Hugo's Frog Bar, or heard
one of her own songs "Catch A Star" on independent radio stations
throughout the country, Brielle demands the audiences attention
with her spectacular melodicism, soaring lyric phrases and infallibility
of pitch. She personally touches people with her life experiences
through laughter and tears. Brielle has not only opened for KoKo
Taylor, and recorded with No Apology's Michael Wilson, she works
closely with Bobby Irving II and Michael Stephans. Contact Information:

Angie Laurin Wendt
Angie
Wendt is extremely pleased to be making her second appearance at
the Chicago Singer Spotlight. A native Chicagoan, Angie has been
making the rounds on the showcase circuit this year (Singer Spotlight
North Shore, Chick Singer Night, Vocal Venue), so you are probably
sick of seeing her. After beginning her career by spending several
foolish years post-college trying to make a living doing musical
theatre, she sort of came to her senses (OK, not really) when she
landed a job starring in the production shows of Carnival Cruiselines.
However, being a beach bum in the Bahamas lost its appeal after
6 months and she returned to Chicago. Since then she has been a
“jobber,” fulfilling her Adam Sandlerish-dream of being a wedding
singer. She currently sings with the Ralph Wilder Orchestra and
does other freelance singing work here and there as it pops up.
Huge props to Becca & Amy for providing such a great opportunity
for singers to network and showcase their talents. Angie dedicates
this show to her mom, who always taught her not to “tank up” before
dinner.
Dina
Joy Byrd
Dina Joy Byrd is thrilled to be singing her first
gig since moving to New York early this year back in Sweet Home
Chicago! She's entertained Windy City audiences for over ten years
as an originating cast member of Schoolhouse Rock Live! and as a
featured artist in both Chicago and New York's Mabel Mercer Foundation
Annual Cabaret Conventions, as well as the Chicago Humanities Festival.
Her foray into cabaret has included appearances at Gentry, Pops
Highwood, Lush Life, Park West and the internationally famous FitzGerald's,
and has inspired five original shows at Davenport's. Day job-wise,
Dina is having a blast pouring beers at "Mickey Finn's east" better
known as Chelsea Brewing Company, and now that she's happily settled
in Astoria Queens, she can't wait to get back to singing. Dina shouts
out thanks to her mom and her best friend Phil for always hanging
in. Above all, thanks and applause to Becca and Amy for keeping
this outstanding gift to singers alive for her to come home to.
Jason
Watts
Although I have played guitar most of my life, I
have only recently discovered writing and singing my own songs as
a way to express myself. My primary passion is my fine art (oil
paintings) in which I have found some succuss with solo and group
shows in several galleries on the East Coast. My music explores
some of the ideas which are difficult to express in my painting.
I try and talk about current events and explore American life in
a satirical way. Humor and sarcasm run deep in my writing, even
when I am commenting on the inequalities, confusion and apathy of
our society. In the past 5 years, I have met a community of musicians
that have been very supportive and helped boost my confidence in
my own music. I have played out in various events and clubs with
other musicians, and have been working on building my portfolio
of songs... My wife Wendy has been very supportive and my new baby
twins Charlie and Gabby (born July) are my newest inspiration.
