Shawn Christopher
Shawn Christopher's musical history can be tracked to Chicago in 1982 when she recorded "It's Too Late", a single for the now defunct Lare Records. The track was an R & B ballad which earned regional success thus paving the way for the more dance oriented "Say It Again". Both songs were recorded at the famed Muscle Shoals Studio in Alabama. Christopher landed a spot in Chaka Khan's live band as a back up singer. She toured with Kahn worldwide from 1982-1985. Since then, Shawn has been featured on recordings and live stage show with Meli'sa Morgan, Vesta Williams, and Gavin Christopher (Shawn's brother). One of Shawn's most noted guest appearances was on Li'l Louis' club classic #1 hit worldwide "French Kiss". When she's not on the road, she can be found recording at one of the jingle houses for television and radio advertisements. In 1997, Shawn joined forces with the already established Chicago-based band Sonia Da Da. With all of the success and exposure, out of nowhere came a 1999 remake of her second #1 hit "Don't Lose The Magic", produced by Erick Kupper. It went #4 on the Billboard. In 2000, Christopher joined forces with renowned writer, producer, and singer Gavin Christopher (Shawn's brother) to create an amazing collection of soulful, heart-stirring songs. In April 2001, Shawn released her CD single "Touched by Your Love" with a stirring remix from D.J. Ricky Bradshaw. For the past year she has been working hard on her new album, which includes her single "Touched by Your Love". This new album, comprised of R&B, Soul, and Non-Traditional Gospel music, will also feature such soul-stirring ballads as "Blessed Assurance" and her new single "Came Into My Life". The new album is entitled "Drink From the Fountain". Shawn invites you to come and be refreshed. Check out her website www.shawnchristopher.com

Jonathan Johnson
Jonathan L. Johnson has been the lead male vocalist of the TVK Orchestra since June of 1992. Mr. Johnson began singing professionally with the Northern Illinois University Jazz Band, under the direction of Ron Modell from 1987 through 1989. During the daytime hours, Jonathan is the Manager of Payroll Operations & Examination for the Chicago Transit Authority.

Angie Laurin Wendt
Angie Laurin Wendt is extremely pleased to be appearing at the Chicago Singer Spotlight. A native of the Chicago suburbs, Angie has been singing onstage for as long as she can remember. A dance and theatre graduate of Rockford College, she was the 1997 recipient of the Leonard Bernstein Award for excellence in music, dance and theatre. Her professional career began in musical theatre, and she has appeared in productions at various dinner theatres, theme parks and other venues throughout the country. A favorite gig of hers was starring as a production singer in the mainstage shows aboard Carnival Cruiselines, where she got to bask in the sun on the beautiful beaches of Nassau during her spare time. Currently, she sings with the Stay Tuned Orchestra, which performs at weddings, parties and clubs throughout Chicagoland. Angie dedicates this performance to the memory of her grandmother who was the first person to ever drag her onstage to sing as a child. She would like to thank Becca & Amy for this great opportunity, as well as family and friends for their love and support!

Dawn McGovern
Dawn McGovern began singing with her Church Choir and publicly debuted her singing talent at the age of 7, during a cable broadcast of a service. She has always possessed a love for music and has continued to perfect her range, studying with a personal coach at The Fine Arts Building in Chicago. While living in Florida, Dawn joined many bands, on stage, to perform crowd-pleasing R&B hits. She also performed in talent contests and at wedding receptions. After moving back to Chicago, she began studying under a professional coach and working with a local band. Participating in Talent Showcases and being involved with the arrangement of original music, has added depth and breadth to her repertoire. Recently, she has begun working in the studio to record several original tracks. A devoted mother of Colin and Taylor and wife to Brian, Dawn has managed to keep her dream alive while continuing to support her family's needs.
