Performing at Singer Spotlight North Shore on
Thursday, August 30 at Pop's Highwood
Cindy Beals
Cindy Beals spent 8 years performing in nightclubs in Minneapolis
and the Midwest doing all styles from Top 40 Dance music to Jazz
and R&B. She has worked in a 1940's show band, toured with a rock
band in the midwest, and performed overseas on USO Tours. In 1983,
Cindy moved to Los Angeles and started her own group which performed
in LA and San Diego for 4-1/2 years. Cindy moved to Chicago to raise
her 2 children in the Midwest. Residing in Libertyville, she works
full time in sales and does folk art painting, hoping to eventually
start a more "artistic" business of her own. Singing has become
part time here, with local band leaders and freelance work on her
own.
Michel
Michel Herskovitz taught herself to play guitar and piano at the
age of 9, which provided the foundation on which this singer songwriter
leaned to express the difficulties of being human. After many years
in the corporate rat race, Michel reconnected with her musical roots
and is once again pursuing her dreams with a vengeance. She has
released 2 CDs of original music, "Fresh Air" and "I Ain't No Angel".
Both reflect her thoughtful insights on life as well as a talent
for delivering complex stories wrapped in warm melodies. Be sure
to stop by Singer Spotlight North Shore to hear Michel perform and
to purchase her new CD.
Becky Ingis
Becky Ingis is thrilled to be performing for the first time at Singer
Spotlight North Shore. She started her singing career in Chicago
just one year ago in another vocal showcase, Chick Singer Night,
in the downtown area. These days she sings with a band called Sal
Fortunato and His Fabulous Stingrays. For gig information, please
check out the website, www.salfortunato.com.
She credits her "stage mom" and the many bowls of Quaker Oatmeal
she consumes each week for getting her here today.
Nikki Rich
Nikki is pleased to be singing at Singer Spotlight North Shore -
especially since its 5 minutes from her store in Highland Park!
She has been seen over the years at Chick Singer, Local Vocal Brew,
and more recently at the Vocal Venue showcase. She sings with the
Stuart Rosenberg Orchestra, and also is the lead singer in the Chicago
club/corporate band, Maryann and the Professors. She has been a
National Anthem singer the the Bulls for four years, the White Sox
for two, and will be starting with the Cubs next season. When not
running her stores in Highland Park and Hinsdale, she occassionally
has the opportunity to sing on studio projects and jingles as well
such as Michelob Golden Draft and Bally's Total Fitness. As always,
she is very grateful to her family and friends for their continued
support along with the women of Singer Spotlight for allowing this
opportunity to exist for all singers.
