Performing
at Singer Spotlight North Shore on Thursday, January 30 at Pops
Highwood.
Angie
Wendt
Angie
Wendt is extremely pleased to be appearing at Singer Spotlight North
Shore. A native of the Chicago suburbs, Angie has been singing onstage
for as long as she can remember. A dance and theatre graduate of
Rockford College, she was the 1997 recipient of the Leonard Bernstein
Award for excellence in music, dance and theatre. Her professional
career began in musical theatre, and she has appeared in productions
at various dinner theatres, theme parks and other venues throughout
the country. A favorite gig of hers was starring as a production
singer in the mainstage shows aboard Carnival Cruiselines, where
she got to bask in the sun on the beautiful beaches of Nassau during
her spare time. Currently, she sings with the Ralph Wilder Orchestra,
which performs at weddings and parties throughout Chicagoland. She
thanks all family and friends for supporting her throughout the
years.
Christine
Sala
Singing
has always been a part of Christine's life, but she has only been
performing live for the past two years, with this being her second
performance here at Pops. Currenlty, Christine is working with a
Pop/Rock cover band, Tongue-n-Groove, performing monthly at local
venues in the Northwest Suburbs. Within that past few months they
have developed quite a loyal following. Playing at these clubs is
quickly becoming the perfect environment for her to develop into
a more professional performer. Unlike the move conventional gospel
to pop singers, over the past several months she has been working
with her church choir, where she is able to let her soprano voice
soar and even more recently has had the honoring of cantoring. As
for future endevours, Christine is working on writing some original
songs, attempting to re-learn the acustic guitar and would love
to get into a recording studio. She would like to thank all her
loyal fans - family ! and friends alike, her vocal instructor -
Fred Farran, and all the wonderfully talented people & musicians
that have inspired her and encouraged her to follow her dreams.
Jeff
Vezain
Jeff
is a singer and songwriter who has lived and worked in Chicago for
the past six years. He works regularly on the "events" circuit with
the Bill Pollack Orchestra. Additionally, he performs his original
material at coffeehouses and clubs. He recently played electric
guitar and sang chorus in the world premier of the rock opera "God
and Country", written by Douglas Post, an original adaptation of
the Greek tragedy, "Antigone", at the Victory Gardens Theatre. Jeff
is also a dancer and dances hip hop with a DJ/entertainment company
called "Energy Productions".
Debbie Miller Koziarz
Last
year marked Deb's 35th year in show biz. She considers herself semi-retired,
but surfaces occasionally to sing at private parties, benefits,
and cool singer showcases like this one! At age 16, she started
singing in her uncle's night club and became hooked on cabaret music.
Working her way through Northwestern University as a theater major,
her career went from modeling to commercials, voice-overs, theater,
and feature films; a fond memory is two scenes with Steve McQueen
in the movie The Hunter. Deb's been active in teaching children's
theater classes for Apple Tree Theater and is currently busy taking
piano lessons, helping direct local children's theater, and singing
for senior citizens -- who consider her a kid. Married to Jim Koziarz
for 30 years, Deb's secret to marital success is simple: "I'm a
thespian, and he likes to watch ." For 10 years she had the privilege
of making music with The Arbors in an annual Christmas benefit concert
in her home town of Highland Park. She dedicates tonight to the
memory of Ed Farran of The Arbors.
