Performing
at Singer Spotlight North Shore at Pops Highwood on Thursday, May
30
Rebecca
Nixon
A late bloomer, Rebecca Nixon
is rockin' into the music scene! She officially debuted her singing
career here at Pop's in our Singer spotlight just last year! She's
very excited to be back. She gives special thanks to Becca Kaufman
and the Bobby Schiff Band who let her sing briefly at a Christmas
party, a few years back, enabling this wonderful door to open! Also
a special thanks to all who work so hard to make this showcase happen.
This past year she has broadened her musical horizons by singing
at other singer spotlight venues around the Chicago area as well
as experiencing professional recording time in a studio. She has
been diligently training under Larry Brent of the Larry Brent Orchestra
and has taken her vocal studies to the next level. Becoming more
comfortable with her style and singing, Rebecca hopes to bring us
some originals next year. Thank you to all who came out to support
not only Rebecca but the band, Pop's and the Singer spotlight showcase!
Kate Milan
Kate
is originally from the Detroit area and has been singing professionally
in Chicago for the last 11 years. She is currently the lead female
vocalist for "The Bill Pollack Orchestra" where she enjoys working
with such talented and supportive musicians. Kate's career includes
singing for commercials, live industrials and voice over. Her energy,
spirit, range and flexibility, as well as a beautiful voice, are
immediately apparent in her music. Kate would like to give a special
thanks to her family and friends for their continued support.
Lisa
Jo Swanson
Lisa
Jo Swanson is happy to be a part of the Singer Spotlight North Shore.
She has also been a featured singer at Chick Singer Night and Local
Vocal Brew. Having worked in all of Chicago's Theme Dinner Theatres
(Dry Gulch, King's Manor, Chicago's Gangstertown, Tommy Gun's Garage)
she is used to singing for audiences who are eating, drinking and
not paying attention. She spent her formative years in musical theatre
but for as long as she can remember she has been traveling the world
as a spokesperson for various products that she knows very little
about. She is happily unmarried to fellow actor, Bob Romeo, who
keeps life exciting!
